Maritime logistics is critically important for building up the aggressor`s military capabilities, moving troops, obtaining weapons and sanctioned goods, and trading stolen goods. Aggressors transport weapons through international straits on civilian merchant vessels. Exporting fossil fuels to circumvent sanctions is the main source of income for russia and Iran. The shadow tanker fleet and ships without ice class in the Arctic threaten an environmental disaster. Through the sale of agricultural products from the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, russia finances the war and maintains the loyalty of its allies, Iran and the DPRK.
Together we can stop this to restore peace and security

The vessel is designed to carry out geological surveys of the seabed and deep ocean zones, prospecting and exploration of mineral resources, environmental monitoring, search and survey of various underwater objects, and engineering and geological studies of bottom soils.
The vessel was involved in marine research as part of the Arctic Connect submarine communication line from Europe to Asia, a project to search for minerals in the Atlantic under an agreement with the International Seabed Authority, and other initiatives.
The vessel belongs to the sanctioned russian company Polar Marine Geological Expedition JSC (АО "Полярная морская геологическая экспедиция"), which is a subsidiary of the sanctioned Rosgeologia JSC (АО "Росгеология"), a russian state-owned diversified geological holding. In the russian federation, Rosgeologia JSC (АО "Росгеология") and its subsidiaries provide a range of geophysical services for the prospecting and exploration of oil and gas fields and are controlled by the russian government.
In February 2024, the United States imposed sanctions on a vessel ultimately managed by Rosgeologia JSC (АО "Росгеология") and used for geophysical surveys and offshore exploration drilling in the russian federation, as well as in international projects on behalf of the russian government.
