The section "Ships" has been expanded with the "Shadow Fleet" functionality
12.12.2024
The "Shadow Fleet" tab has been added to the "Marine vessels" section. It contains information on 238 "figures" in the shadow fleet of old oil tankers, which provides multibillion-dollar revenues to aggressors and threatens global environmental safety.

Currently, such tankers can be filtered by the main operators that emerged in 2022-2023 and played a key role in the formation of the Russian shadow fleet and ensuring the transportation of russian oil under sanctions. These are companies and vessels associated with the russian company Sovcomflot, Gatik Ship Management (India), Fractal Marine DMCC (UAE), Radiating World Shipping Services LLC (UAE), Star Voyages Shipping Services LLC (UAE), Hennesea Holdings Limited, and others. For your convenience, you can also filter tankers by sanctions regime (russia or Iran) and applicable restrictions. In addition, the section allows you to track who currently owns and operates the shadow fleet.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, russia has spent about $10 billion to create its own shadow fleet.

The shadow fleet is made up mainly of outdated, poorly maintained vessels without proper insurance, with ‘confusing’ ownership and management structures, located in ‘friendly’ jurisdictions, flying ‘convenient’ flags. Such vessels resort to deceptive tactics at sea to conceal the origin of their cargo, threaten ‘environmental chaos’ and billions of dollars in losses to coastal countries due to the growing risk of disasters when navigating busy narrow international transport routes, and refuse pilotage services. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, more than 50 incidents involving shadow tankers have already been reported from the Danish Straits to Malaysia.

Exports of fossil fuels are a key source of funding for the aggressors' military buildup and feeding the “bloody” regimes. In 2023, russia earned $188 billion from oil exports, while Iran earned almost $53 billion.

New components of the North Korean KN-23/KN-24 ballistic missile have been published. Other sections of the portal have been updated.
25.11.2024

COMPONENTS IN WEAPONS:
North Korea has supplied russia with more than a hundred ballistic missiles and sent specialists to support the launchers.
For the first time, russia used KN-23/KN-24 on the territory of Ukraine at the end of 2023. Civilians in both frontline and distant regions of Ukraine have repeatedly become victims of such attacks. On 2 January, a rocket hit a Kyiv high-rise building, killing four people. On 11 August, a four-year-old boy and his father were killed and three other people were injured by the fragments of such a missile in Kyiv region.
The portal has previously published information on components from 19 manufacturers from seven countries (the United States, China, Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland) identified in the KN-23/KN-24 missiles used by russia against Ukraine. Among them are NXP Semiconductors, Semtech Corporation, Toshiba, and Mornsun.
New components from the PRC, the USA, Japan, the UK, and Switzerland have been announced today. At least one of them - a voltage converter labelled by the British manufacturer XP Power - was manufactured after the start of the full-scale invasion - in February 2023.

The components of the Gerbera UAV, which is being assembled by the russia based on a Chinese prototype and Chinese kits, have been published. All sections have been updated.
18.11.2024

COMPONENTS IN WEAPONS:
The Gerbera UAV is one of the vehicles that imitates the Shahed-136/Geran-2 and is widely used by russia to overload Ukrainian air defences. In addition, the Gerbera can carry a combat unit as a kamikaze UAV and conduct electronic reconnaissance (e.g., detecting air defence positions, fixing hits on the target by other UAVs). The Gerbera is assembled in Alabuga, russia, based on a prototype developed by the Chinese company Skywalker Technology Co., Ltd, and from kits supplied by it.
Due to the use of simple materials (plywood, foam), Gerbera is ten times cheaper than Geran, but contains the usual set of components from foreign manufacturers.
To date, 28 foreign-made electronic components identified in Gerbera have been published - from the US, China, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and Taiwan.
Additionally, the engines manufactured by the Chinese company Mile Hao Xiang Technology Co, Ltd, from the Gerbera and Parodya UAVs have been published.

UAV "Parodya" - components of the fake target with which russia is trying to overload Ukrainian air defence have been published. All W&S sections have been updated.
11.11.2024

COMPONENTS IN WEAPONS:
Around half of the UAVs used by russia against Ukraine are decoys and fake targets to distract and overwhelm Ukrainian air defences.
Among the main such UAVs are 'Parodya' drones, which are much smaller and cheaper than "shaheds" and have no warhead. However, thanks to the ‘Luneberg lens’, they radar imitate Shahed-136/Geran-2, diverting Ukrainian air defence fire to themselves.
Luneberg`s effect, invented in the first half of the last century by German-American scientist Rudolf Lüneberg, is widely used to make flying targets for aviation.
Today, 11 foreign-made electronic components - from China, the USA, Switzerland and Taiwan - from the 'Parodya' flight control module have been published.
Additionally, four new components of the North Korean KN-23/KN-24 ballistic missile were published.
