During the period when the G7 and EU oil embargo and the price cap policy on russian crude oil/petroleum products are in effect, the tanker is involved in the export of russian petroleum products, primarily from the russian port of Novorossiysk. The vessel turns off its AIS in the Black Sea, near russian ports.
In January 2023, the tanker transported over 29,000 metric tons of russian petroleum products from the russian port of Tuapse to Greece. The Tuapse production facility includes a refinery and maritime terminal owned by the designated russian entity PJSC Oil Company "Rosneft" (ПАО "НК "Роснефть"). The consignor of the cargo was PJSC Oil Company "Rosneft", and the consignee was Bellatrix Energy Limited (Hong Kong), also a designated entity.
In February 2023, the same cargo was transferred via ship-to-ship (STS) operation from tanker IMO 9292591 to tanker IMO 9328170 in waters near Greece. The receiving vessel is affiliated with the designated UAE-based company Fractal Marine DMCC, one of the leading operators of the so-called russian shadow fleet in 2022–2023.
In May 2024, the vessel exported nearly 280,000 barrels of diesel from the Sheskharis terminal at the Port of Novorossiysk to Turkey on behalf of PJSC Tatneft.
In February 2025, the tanker exported nearly 280,000 barrels of diesel from the Sheskharis terminal at the Port of Novorossiysk to Turkey on behalf of PJSC Lukoil.
In March 2026, the vessel exported over 26,800 barrels of petroleum products from the Port of Novorossiysk to Turkey.
The vessel is part of the fleet of Ionia Management SA, a shipping company headquartered in Greece that has specialized in commercial fleet management and international maritime cargo transport for over 30 years.
The tanker is involved in the energy sector of the russian federation, the profits from which are one of the most important sources of revenue for the aggressor state’s budget.
