Vessel information
The tanker is involved in the export of russian wet cargo from russian ports in the Black and Azov Seas, and systematically conducts dark activities in the Kerch Strait area, near russian ports in the Azov and Black Seas, near Cyprus, Syria, and Iran (in 2023).
Since September 2023, the tanker has been owned by the russian company Traveler Shipping LLC, which was founded in 2009 by Aston Food and Food Ingredients JSC, one of the largest producers of food and food ingredients in russia, a leading exporter of agricultural products and vegetable oils.
The previous owner of the tanker was the russian company Trans-Flot LLC (TIN 6367039363, under USA sanctions), one of the largest shipping companies in russia, which carries out cargo transportation on inland waterways of russia and international sea routes. The main cargoes transported by the company are crude oil and petroleum products, edible oils, and liquid chemicals. The company's geographical area of operation includes the North-West, Central, Volga, Azov-Don, and Kama basins with access to the coastal waters of the Baltic, Black, Azov, Mediterranean, and Caspian Seas, as well as northern russian ports. Trans-Flot LLC is affiliated with the sanctioned vessels IMO 9690224, IMO 9690212, involved in the supply of fuel to the TOT of Crimea on behalf of the sanctioned JSC Sovfracht (TIN 7702059030), one of the largest independent freight forwarding companies in russia, which acts as a key node in the military transportation network of russian cargo ships delivering north Korean weapons to military facilities, which are then transported to weapons depots on the western border of russia for use in the war against Ukraine.
The fleet of Traveler Shipping LLC includes 15 vessels, including tankers IMO 8943260, IMO 8883252, involved in the supply of jet fuel and other important cargo to the Middle East (to the group of russian troops in Syria in the interests of the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation), and call at the ports of the TOT of Ukraine (in particular, the port of Crimea).
On May 09, 2025, the United Kingdom imposed sanctions on the tanker as part of the restrictions on the shadow fleet of the russian federation, including for engaging in activities aimed at destabilizing Ukraine, undermining/threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty or independence of Ukraine or benefiting from or supporting the government of russia, and participating in the transportation of crude oil/petroleum products of russian origin, in particular, from russia to a third country.
