The vessel is designed for the carriage of general cargo, bulk cargoes – including grain without shifting boards in the holds – bulk cargoes with a stowage factor of at least 0.85 m³/tonne, dangerous goods, timber, and containers of international IC and ICC standards, both in the holds and on hatch covers (Project No. 19610).
It has been involved in the transportation of artillery shells and ammunition from Iran to russia via the Caspian Sea.
The vessel is owned by the sanctioned russian maritime shipping company MG-Flot LLC (ООО "МГ-Флот", formerly ООО "Трансморфлот").
MG-Flot LLC is linked to Astrakhan businessman Jamaldin Emirmagomedovich Pashayev, who built his business around the commercial port of Olya in the Astrakhan region. This location was proposed as a key logistics hub for the International North– South Transport Corridor, the creation and construction of which was overseen and controlled by former russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov. The primary purpose of the corridor was to facilitate trade with sanctioned Iran, enabling the import and export of goods via the North– South route.
In May 2022, the US imposed sanctions on the vessel.
On May 23, 2026, Ukraine imposed sanctions on the vessel.
