The support vessel is one of several vessels in the fleet of the russian Maritime Rescue Service equipped with a Dynpos-2 class dynamic positioning system. It was involved in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 export gas pipeline, serving as an anchor handling vessel for the Fortuna pipelayer during the surface lay stage.
In August 2021, the United States imposed sanctions on the vessel for its role in assisting the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project.
