Vessel information
The vessel is owned by the sanctioned russian shipping company MG-Flot LLC (TIN 3017041900, formerly known as Transmorfloot LLC).
In May 2022, the US imposed sanctions on 16 of the company's vessels, including IMO 9349291.
MG-Flot LLC is linked to Astrakhan businessman Jamaldin Emir Magomedovich Pashayev, who built his business around the commercial port of Olya in the Astrakhan region. This location was proposed as a key logistics hub for the North-South international transport corridor, the creation and construction of which was supervised and controlled by former russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov. The key purpose of the transport corridor was trade with sanctioned Iran, which could import and export goods via the North-South route.
On October 2, 2024, the ship entered the port of Novorossiysk after delivering cargo to Libya from Iraq.
