Publicly supports russian aggression and actively cooperates with the occupation authorities. He is involved in spreading russian propaganda, in particular, with the aim of distorting history and justifying the occupation of Ukrainian territories. As the head of the branch of the russian Historical Society, he regularly organizes events dedicated to the so-called DPR. Thus, in 2024, during a meeting of the council of the branch of the russian Historical Society of the so-called DPR under the leadership of Rozumny, it was decided to prepare a collective publication "Sketches of the History of the DPR". He periodically organizes meetings of students of "Donetsk University" with the so-called heroes of the SMO to honor the memory of the russian military.
