Reasons
Skoltech, where Korotkevich works, develops dual-use technologies, including:
- anti-icing coatings for unmanned aerial vehicles;
- materials for space vehicles as part of a project to create a domestic satellite internet;
- technology for manufacturing turbine blades for aircraft engines;
- the organization of production of photonic chips using "silicon-on-insulator" technology, and more.
In addition, Skoltech is conducting research and development work as part of the federal project "Promising Technologies for Unmanned Aerial Systems" focused on developing technology for the production of lattice-structured composite load-bearing structures for unmanned aerial systems.
In July 2026, the U.S. Department of Defense added the Institute to the list of entities engaged in activities that threaten U.S. national security interests and imposed a ban on cooperation with Skoltech and on funding any programs or research involving the Institute or its employees.
Korotkevich’s participation in international grant-funded research:
He is participating in the research project "Superharmonic Instability of Stokes Waves," which was funded, in part, by U.S. National Science Foundation grant DMS-1929284 for a total of $23,660,619.
