The company is a russian research institute. It performs corporate and strategic management of a group of enterprises in the radio-electronics industry. It is engaged in ensuring information security and designing automated control systems for the russian armed forces, and in particular developed and presented the Gorizont geoinformation platform for processing data from satellites and UAVs at the Army-2024 forum.
A high-tech park and a school for young engineers have been established on the institute's basis to train engineers developing defense products. In April 2022, the enterprise received license No. L052-00102-77/00145909 from the russian ministry of industry and trade for the maintenance of weapons and military equipment.
It is part of United Instrument Manufacturing Corporation JSC – the managing organization of the Ruselectronics JSC holding company, a subsidiary of the russian state corporation Rostec.
