AGRANOVICH Ekaterina Aleksandrovna

She is an active participant in russia’s information war against Ukraine as a propagandist, journalist, and media manager, whose activities are aimed at supporting russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. She systematically participates in information campaigns in support of the occupation regime and the "russian world," as well as in federal events and media projects of the aggressor country aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian government and legitimizing the occupation of Ukrainian territories.
She holds the position of first deputy head of the Commission on the Development of the Non-Profit Sector of the Public Chamber of the russian federation, secretary of the "Union of Journalists of russia," serves on the supervisory board of the Public Center for Support of Defense Innovations, and is a member of the "International Public Tribunal on Ukraine."
She worked as a special correspondent for the "Gosindex" portal, collaborated with the "Afisha Novorossii" resource, and served as editor-in-chief of the publication MOSNOW.
She is a co-author of the book "In the leading role: putin in contemporary culture," which contributes to the formation of a cult of personality around the leader of the aggressor country. She officially supported putin’s candidacy and joined the initiative group to nominate putin as a candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
In June 2023, she participated in a meeting between putin and military correspondents operating in the so-called "SMO" zone.
She is the author of the propaganda Telegram channel "Ekaterina Agranovich" (formerly "Katrusya"). In addition, he is the creator of the ongoing "InfoSchool" project, which implements media education programs for schoolchildren in the occupied territories.
Together with her brother Vladimir Agranovych, she is actively involved in filmmaking in the temporarily occupied Donbas region; she is a co-author of the first low-budget propaganda series about the war against Ukraine, "Mobilization," and is also involved in larger-scale projects, notably "Reservists." In 2025, she founded Smysl Media LLC, whose primary activity is "the production of feature films, videos, and television programs."
She is the daughter of a well-known Donbas militant—Alexander Agranovich, commander of a company in the "Sparta" battalion, call sign "Matros."
She lived for a long time in the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk and voluntarily obtained a passport of the so-called DPR.
She supports the activities of the illegal armed formations of the so-called DPR and LPR. She is involved in organizing and providing informational support for the collection of material aid for the needs of units of the russian armed forces and militants participating in hostilities against Ukraine.
She systematically visits the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
In 2022, she received a "state award" from the so-called DPR "for services to the republic" of the third degree; in 2023, she was awarded the Medal of the Order "For Services to the fatherland" of the second degree. In 2025, she received the "Alexander Tvardovsky Medal," a departmental award from the russian ministry of culture.
In September 2024, the Security Service of Ukraine notified Agranovich that he was suspected of engaging in information activities in collaboration with the aggressor state and its occupation administration, aimed at supporting the aggressor state, its occupation administration, and armed groups, and at helping it evade responsibility for its armed aggression against Ukraine.
