Vessel information
The crane and pipe-laying vessel combines the functions of a crane vessel and a pipe-layer.
The vessel was part of the Nord Stream 2 export pipeline completion fleet.
Since 2022, it has been working on the gas pipeline from the Yuzhno-Kirinskoye gas condensate field to the Kirinskoye gas condensate field (operator - Gazprom).
Since 27.06.2024, it has been laying a pipeline connecting the Kirinskoye and South Kirinskoye gas condensate fields.
In May 2021, USA imposed sanctions on vessels involved in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, including "Akademik Chersky".
The vessel was part of the Nord Stream 2 export pipeline completion fleet.
