The vessel is affiliated with designated russian oligarch Oleg Vladimirovich Potanin (Олег Владимирович Потанин), a close associate of president Vladimir Putin.
Potanin is the beneficial owner of the designated russian company LLC Holding Company Interros (ООО "Холдинговая компания "Интеррос"), whose assets include PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel (ПАО "ГМК "Норильский никель"), the world’s largest producer of nickel and palladium and also a major producer of platinum, copper, silver, gold, cobalt, and other non-ferrous metals. His holdings also include the designated PJSC Rosbank (ПАО "Росбанк"), among others.
The 88.5-meter yacht is estimated to be worth USD 120 million.
In December 2022, the United States designated the vessel as blocked property of Oleg Potanin.
