Vessel information
The vessel is designed to transport dangerous goods in packaging on railway wagons and rolling equipment (motor vehicles). It is part of the fleet of the sanctioned russian Sakhalin Shipping Company PJSC (ПАО "Сахалинское морское пароходство"), one of the largest russian shipping companies in the Far East. The company ranks among the top 100 largest maritime container carriers in the world, is one of the leaders in cabotage shipping volumes, and plays an important role in export– import connections with the Asia-Pacific region.
The company is part of the Delo Group (Группа компаний "Дело") – affiliated with the russian state corporation Rosatom (ГК "Росатом") – with 58.67% of shares owned by the sanctioned russian TransContainer PJSC (ПАО "Трансконтейнер"), the largest railway container operator in russia, providing a full range of transport and logistics services in integration with other Delo Group assets.
The vessels of Sakhalin Shipping Company PJSC have been involved in the development of future large-scale russian energy facilities, delivering the necessary construction materials and equipment by sea to the Taimyr Peninsula, as well as in expanding russia’s trade routes to new foreign jurisdictions to replace economic ties lost after russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
In July 2023, the United States imposed sanctions on 14 vessels, including Sakhalin 10, from the fleet of Sakhalin Shipping Company PJSC.
