Since May 2026, the tanker IMO 9300817, flying the russian flag since April 2026, has been involved in transporting russian LNG from the floating storage vessel IMO 9915090, which as of June 1, 2026, is subject to sanctions by the US, the EU, Switzerland, and Canada. The floating storage vessel IMO 9915090 stores LNG produced by the sanctioned "Arctic LNG-2" project (the project is inaccessible to conventional tankers for much of the year due to difficult ice conditions in the Ob Bay), and transships LNG as part of the "Yamal LNG" project.
On June 16, 2026, the United Kingdom imposed sanctions on the tanker.
