The vessel is owned by the sanctioned Russian shipping company Daliir LLC (Astrakhan), which is involved in the transportation of military cargo for the Iranian military on behalf of the sanctioned company Rosoboronexport JSC, a russian state intermediary for the export/import of military goods and dual-use goods.
In February 2024, the US imposed sanctions on the vessel.
