The tanker has been involved in the transport of Iranian oil and, since russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has begun, it has been used to transport russian crude oil and petroleum products.
The tanker is affiliated with the sanctioned company Al-Qatirji, which used its fleet, including the tanker IMO 9258870, to transport Iranian oil, in particular to China and Syria, on behalf of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force and the Houthis.
On November 14, 2024, the United States imposed sanctions on the tanker.
On December 13, 2025, Ukraine imposed sanctions on the vessel.
