The tanker, during the period of the G7 and EU oil embargo and the price cap policy on russian crude and petroleum products, is involved in the export of russian crude from russian ports in the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea, and the Pacific region, in particular to the PRC and India, in the interests of PJSC "Surgutneftegaz" and PJSC Oil Company "Rosneft".
The vessel is involved in the oil sector of the russian federation’s economy, the revenues from which are one of the most important sources of income for the aggressor state’s budget.
On December 13, 2025, Ukraine imposed sanctions on the vessel.
