The first specialized enterprise in the ussr for the development of anti-aircraft guided missiles, established in 1953 as OKB-2. It is part of the Almaz-Antey Concern OJSC. The company is engaged in the development of new generation anti-aircraft guided missiles to counter existing and future types of airborne space attack. The company's pilot production facility manufactures almost all structural components of the missile. The company's test center is capable of conducting 19 types of various tests to determine and confirm the technical characteristics of anti-aircraft guided missiles.
As part of the cooperation on the production of RM-48U strike missiles, the company carried out operational research and development work to modernize these missiles (codenamed "Modernization-48U") and the organization of their serial production, as well as evaluating the performance characteristics of the 28A6-04 units, equipped with the 39B6 unit and the 103-1 product, as part of this missile.
