Description:
A multi-figure composition. In the center is a full-length image of two soldiers spooning food from a pot. To the left, in a ¾ turn to the right, is a soldier. His head is bandaged and he has a cap on his right knee. The soldier on the right is depicted in left profile, wearing a papa and an overcoat. In the background, on the left, there is a woman cutting bread, next to her are figures of armed soldiers. On the right, a soldier (the figure is in full face, the head is 3/4 turned to the right) with a rifle, a mug in his left hand and a piece of bread in his right. In the foreground to the left is a basket with bread and a bucket. To the right is a rifle leaning against a weapon wheel, which is cut off by the right edge of a sheet. On the ground are machine-gun tapes and shell casings; in the background is the wall of an arsenal with loopholes; to the left is a window with puffs of smoke coming out of it.
Under the image, in the left corner, there is the author's monogram: IC. Signed in pencil: "20/25 In between battles. From the series "Arsenalists"". Signed by the author on the right: I. Selivanov 57.
On the back bottom: "Selivanov I.M. In between battles. reg. 98787, inv. 13859".
Condition: General yellowing of the sheet. The top layer of paper is partially torn from the bottom and top.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
