Description:
A generational image of a middle-aged man sitting in an armchair. The figure is slightly turned 3/4 of a turn to the left. The head is tilted to the right. His elbows are on the armrests. In his right hand is a bent paper. The portrait subject is dressed in a dark gray suit, from under which the collar of a gray shirt and a black tie are visible. On the left lapel of the jacket are two stars of the Hero of Socialist Labor and a badge of the Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. In the lower right corner, there is a black paint inscription 60 F.Z. On the back - in the upper part in black paint: Twice Hero of Socialist Labor, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrainian SSR designer - mechanizer of agricultural machinery Baida Hryhoriy Ivanovych h/m b. 85x60 made in 1960. Art. Zahorodniuk F.I. born in 1922. Kherson, 51 Ushakova St., Organization of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR, index 325000. In the lower right corner - the passport of the State Department of Art, reg. № 200100. In the image of the face and on the chest on the right there is a slight deformation of the canvas and cracking of the paint layer. In the background, in the upper left corner, there is a sediment.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
