Description:
Against a gray-blue background is a generational image of an elderly man sitting, slightly leaning forward. The image is in a ¾ turn to the left. He is holding a pipe in his right bent hand, which is resting on his right knee. The left hand, slightly bent, is on the other knee. High forehead, black eyebrows, brown squinting eyes, wide nose, round chin, black hair with gray hair on the temples. He was wearing a navy tunic with a stand-up collar and shoulder straps. There are patches on the sleeves. In the upper left quarter of the composition there is a window sill cut off by the edge of a sheet.
Under the image in the lower left corner is the author's signature in black charcoal pencil.
On the back, in the lower right corner, there is a passport of the State Department of Foreign Affairs. In the upper corner in red pencil: №1121, and graphite pencil: "Puteiko Vl. Gr. 1925. Odesa Chkalova St. No. 1 sq. 14 "V.S. Portrait of Fedotov".
State of preservation: Top left: 2 cm tear of the sheet edge. Tear in the left edge of the sheet. In the upper right quarter on a gray background is a strip of white paint. The work is wrapped.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
