Description:
A street corner in a provincial town. In the foreground on the left is the southwestern part of the light blue-pink with red spots church with a low southern narthex. The western wall of the narthex has a dark cherry door with a porch, which is reached by five light ochre steps. In front of the porch, there is a lantern on a striped black and white pillar. Behind the roof of the church you can see the hipped top of the bell tower. Yellow and green foliage can be seen behind the roof of the narthex and against the background of its southern wall. A narrow gray path separates the church from the buildings on the right. Closer to the church is a shop with cherry walls, colorful windows, and a green roof. A sign with the inscription "Torgovaya" is attached to the eaves. To the left is a small wooden house with a high gable roof and three windows on the facade (two on the wall and one in the attic). There is a front garden with sunflowers in front of the house. Above the roofs of the buildings are the tops of two tall trees. In the background, between the church and the buildings on the right, there is a dark gray wall of a house with green leaves above the roof. The sky is light green-blue with cirrus clouds. At the bottom left in dark gray paint is the author's signature: "B. Kustodіev 1916". The plywood is warped. Over the entire surface of the image, small scattering of paint; significant precipitation in the image of the sky and the bottom of the southern wall of the church narthex. Top right: puncture; nail punctures along the edges of the plywood sheet. Reverse - Pieces of thin plywood (patches) are glued to the upper right and lower left corners.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
