Description:
Near the table with books is a large-scale generational image of an elderly man in a 3/4 turn of the figure and head to the right. He is holding a book in his right hand, which is lowered down, and leaning on a book lying on the edge of the table with his left hand, which is slightly bent. The face is thin and wrinkled, with small blue-gray eyes, thin lips, and a narrow, split chin. Half-bald head with short gray hair on the temples. He is dressed in a gray and ochre tunic with the shoulder straps of a lieutenant general, on the chest, on the right and left side of the order and order bars, wearing a white shirt with a black tie, and pants with stripes. The figure is depicted against a background of a dark red carpet with a geometric pattern. In the upper right corner, in a rectangle, there is a black-and-white image of a horseman, and in the center of the carpet are two crossed sabers. In the lower right corner, in brown paint, is the author's signature, dated 84. On the back - At the top, in red paint: "Odesa. Kryzhevska Svitlana Hryhorivna, 1946. Veteran of the Civil and Great Patriotic War, Lieutenant General Chirkov P.M. 1984, h. m. 105x80".

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
