Description:
Against a dark brown background with two rectangular window openings in white and blue, the right one narrower and shifted upwards, an explanatory image of a man in a ¾ turn to the right. The right hand, with a barely traced hand, is bent at a right angle, the shoulder line is almost straight, and the neck is high and straight, turning into an elongated, angular head. The right side of the head and figure is narrowed and offset relative to the left, in the shade. Short, straight hair is parted in a straight parting, the forehead is high, the eyebrows are thin, the eyes are large, the nose is straight, and the lips are compressed. The head and neck are painted in light brown tones, the clothes are white and blue. At the bottom right is the author's signature in Armenian.
On the stretcher: on the left, a sticker "USSR East Secondary School No. 4147", above in black: "DV VSKh USSR", on the top right: "4157". On the canvas in the lower right corner is the author's signature: "National Hero of Italy, Soviet soldier Mkrtich Dashtoyan. Art. Ikhmalian Jacques 1974" and a monogram. Traces of mounting from the stretcher, two at the top and bottom near the side edges. Scuffs along the edges, traces of the frame.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
