Description:
In the opening of a railway carriage, Dzerzhinsky is surrounded by homeless people. The figure is given in 3/4 turn to the right. He is dressed in a grey overcoat. To the left of him is a boy in a budenovka. To his right is a boy in torn trousers and boots, wearing a shirt, sitting on the foot of the carriage. Behind him is the bandaged face of a boy wearing a black cap. In the back of the carriage are three figures of standing homeless people. Bottom right corner: A. Nasedkin 1963. There is a smeared inscription on the canvas at the top: 75x50 E with B New Life 1963 two in a circle. On the frame is a passport of the State Treasury of Ukraine, inv. № 22830. The stretcher is blind.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
