Against the background of a theater set is a grotesque image of 5 full-length figures in carnival costumes. On the right is a near-profile image of 3 people turned to the center, dressed in colorful green, pink, pink and brown blouses with puffed collars and long skirts. The heads of the outermost ones are in left profile, the middle one is in 3/4 turn to the left. The face is whitened and ruddy, the hair is dark. To the left are 2 people: a frontal figure wearing a black mask and a white cape, from under which ochre strands of hair fall on his bare shoulders; he is dressed in a short white transparent dress, black stockings and dark half-boots, at the left edge of the image of the figure almost from the back, his head with large facial features is in right profile; he wears a pink cape, from under which strands of black hair are visible. A shawl with a large orange and yellow pattern is wrapped around the figure's bare shoulders, covering the figure. The legs are in black stockings, half-bent. In the lower left corner there is a longitudinal image of a man's face with a large nose, a compressed mouth, and a monocle. The canvas is stitched (made of three pieces), thin. There are numerous and significant tears and nail stretches along the edges. Loss of the base in the center of the image with loose edges of the canvas. Heavy soiling, mouse excrement everywhere. Significant abrasions of the paint layer. The lacquer film is missing.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
