A girl in a white shirt and red dress, standing knee-deep in water, puts a yellow duckling in a basket standing in green grass. On the water are two white and one gray duck with three ducklings. To the right, facing her, is a girl with a blue ribbon in her braid, in a motley red and yellow dress, with bare feet. Head and figure in profile. Between the girls, behind the basket, is a fair-haired boy in a white shirt, who has stretched out his right hand over the basket and pressed his left to his chest. On the opposite bank of the river, in front of densely growing trees, are white Ukrainian huts. On the blue sky and blue-green water, there are golden-pink reflections of the setting sun. In the right corner, a signature in black paint: “Trutovskyi 1878” (“Трутовского 1878”). Stretcher. The work is converted. There is dotted scree along the edges of the canvas. Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
