Description of the incident location
The Oleksandrivski Skeli necropolis is located half a kilometer from the ancient settlement of the 11th Kilometer Settlement southwest of Kerch (Kerch district, Crimea). In 2017, two sections of the necropolis were illegally excavated in the floors and mounds of mounds 1 and 2 of the Oleksandrivske Skeli 1 mound group. In total, 243 burials were destroyed on an area of 6364 square meters, mostly dating to the second half of the first and second centuries AD. The burials of the first centuries AD include 103 burials in the area of Mound 1 and 137 burials in the area of Mound 2. Funerary equipment was appropriated: ceramic and glass vessels, lamps, terracotta, coins, metal and bone tools, knives, as well as weapons, bronze and precious metal jewelry, and glass.
