THE SO-CALLED "MAIN STATE DEPARTMENT OF DOCUMENTATION AND ARCHIVAL AFFAIRS OF THE DONETSK PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC"

The institution was established in 2014 by the occupation authorities on the territory of the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk. The functions of the institution include ‘guardianship’ over archival institutions on the territory of the temporarily occupied Donetsk region. The so-called ‘department’ takes measures aimed at legitimising the occupation of Ukrainian territories by the russian federation and subordination of Ukrainian archives from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine to the russian archival infrastructure. By the Decree of the so-called ‘head of the dpr’ of 19.10.2023 No. 481, the institution was liquidated.
