FOUNDATION "HISTORY OF THE FATHERLAND"

The Foundation was established by Presidential Decree No. 163 of 6 April 2016 with the aim of promoting russian history. The head of the foundation is considered to be the head of the russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin. The Foundation regularly finances propaganda activities aimed at defaming Ukrainian history. For example, on 16 February 2024, the foundation organised an event "Euromaidan: Ukraine's Lost Decade", where among the participants was the head of the russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Lavrov, who noted that "the West uses Ukraine in all senses to contain russia". Also in 2023, the exhibition "novorossiya" was opened in Moscow, which demonstrated the temporarily occupied territories within the russian federation. In 2022, the foundation funded the Artesian archaeological expedition near the temporarily occupied city of Kerch. The foundation also supported the creation of the exhibition "Crimean Spring. A 10-year journey" in the so-called "Tavrida Museum" in the temporarily occupied Simferopol.
