On February 27, 2022, at one of the russian propaganda forums "AfterShok", Roshchin expressed his position on russia's aggression against Ukraine, declaring "full and unconditional support for the russian operation to demilitarize and, more importantly, denazify Ukraine", and called on the rest of the "russian-speaking professional players in all disciplines and games who are still silent" to "firmly define their priorities".
After his statement, Roschin was suspended from international tournaments and continues his career in russian tournaments.
