Reasons
"Skoltech," where Baimuratov works, is engaged in the development of dual-use technologies, specifically:
- anti-icing coatings for unmanned aerial vehicles;
- materials for space vehicles as part of a project to create a domestic satellite internet;
- technology for manufacturing turbine blades for aircraft engines;
- the organization of production of photonic chips using "silicon-on-insulator" technology, etc.
In addition, Skoltech is conducting research and development work as part of the federal project "Advanced Technologies for Unmanned Aerial Systems" to develop technology for the production of lattice composite structural components for unmanned aerial systems.
In July 2026, the U.S. Department of Defense added the Institute to a list of organizations engaged in activities that threaten U.S. national security interests and imposed a ban on cooperation with Skoltech and on funding any programs or research involving the Institute or its employees.
As part of his work at Skoltech’s Center for Engineering Physics, Baimuratov specializes in nanophotonics, semiconductors, nanocrystals, and related fields.
Baimuratov’s participation in international collaboration:
In 2025, he completed his habilitation and served as a postdoctoral fellow at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
He is a co-author of numerous scientific articles prepared in collaboration with researchers from scientific institutions in Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Japan, China, etc.
