Reasons
As Chief Designer of a leading enterprise specializing in the development of rocket artillery systems, V. Yerokhin is responsible for the development and modernization of the Grad, Uragan, Smerch, and Tornado multiple launch rocket systems (hereinafter – MLRS). His intellectual contribution is reflected in patents for inventions, particularly those related to the warhead casings of rocket projectiles, which are directly aimed at increasing the effectiveness of these weapons.
In addition, JSC "A. N. Ganichev Scientific and Production Association Splav" participates in the development and production of 9-E-2648 warheads for Kh-101 strategic cruise missiles.
Kh-101 strategic cruise missiles and Tornado MLRS are used by russia in its aggressive war against Ukraine, including strikes against civilian targets, resulting in civilian deaths and injuries.
The most notable incidents include:
July 8, 2024, a Kh-101 strategic cruise missile strike on the Okhmatdyt Children’s Medical Center in Kyiv;
November 19, 2025, a Kh-101 strategic cruise missile strike on an apartment building in Ternopil, resulting in the deaths of 33 people, including 6 children;
November 20, 2024, a Tornado-S MLRS strike on a thermal power plant in the outskirts of Kharkiv, injuring 6 employees of the energy facility.
