S. Bohatikov serves as the General Director of an enterprise that is the principal developer of russian missile weaponry. Under his leadership, the enterprise carries out the full cycle of development and production of Kh-101/Kh-102 strategic cruise missiles, as well as Kh-59 and Kh-69 guided air-launched missiles.
In addition, during S. Bohatikov’s tenure, the Kh-101 strategic cruise missile was modernized for use in the war against Ukraine, including the integration of a cluster warhead capability.
The missiles manufactured by JSC "A. Ya. Bereznyak State Machine-Building Design Bureau Raduga" are widely used by russia in its aggressive war against Ukraine, including for strikes against densely populated cities, energy facilities, and civilian infrastructure, resulting in civilian deaths and injuries.
The most significant incidents in terms of casualties include:
July 8, 2024, a Kh-101 strategic cruise missile strike on the Okhmatdyt Children’s Medical Center in Kyiv;
November 19, 2025, a Kh-101 strategic cruise missile strike on an apartment building in Ternopil, resulting in the deaths of 33 people, including 6 children.
He publicly supports russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine and uses media platforms and industry publications to promote the alleged "necessity" of expanding missile production and to justify large-scale missile strikes against Ukrainian territory.
