Openly supports russia's war against Ukraine, spreading kremlin propaganda narratives, glorifying the russian military, manipulating socially important information and distorting facts regarding events on the battlefield, supporting russia's annexation of the Ukrainian Crimea, putin's policies and the kremlin regime.
He joined the initiative group to nominate putin as a candidate in the 2024 presidential elections.
He is a member of the Central Headquarters of the All-russian Public Movement "People's Front "For russia" (under sanctions from the EU, Canada, Switzerland and Ukraine), which was created at putin's initiative to monitor the implementation of his decrees/instructions and conduct campaign activities in the election processes. He is also a member of the putin Team movement, which supports putin in the presidential elections.
In addition, Kots is one of the key figures in the project "People's Front. All for Victory", within the framework of which he systematically raises funds for the needs of the russian military and supplies collimator sights, thermal imagers, tactical generators, communication equipment, drones, night cameras for FPV, etc. to the front.
In November 2022, by putin's decree, he was included in the Council under the President of the russian federation for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, in particular, in the temporary working group on the so-called "SMO". According to putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov, Kots "represents those who protect the rights of participants in the special operation in Ukraine".
In June 2023, Kots took part in putin's meeting with military correspondents who carry out their activities in the so-called "SMO" zone.
In 2014, he received the russian Ministry of Defense medal "For the Defense of Crimea" for loyal media coverage of the russian annexation of Ukrainian Crimea.
He is constantly in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
