Reasons
The sanctions were adopted in response to the comprehensive invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. 28.06.2022 U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated entities, many of which are critical to the Russian Federation’s defense industrial base. Actions, taken pursuant to Executive Orders (E.O.s) 14024 and 14065, strike at the heart of Russia’s ability to develop and deploy weapons and technology used for Vladimir Putin’s brutal war of aggression against Ukraine.
