Russian defense contractor, which provides weapons to the Russian Armed Forces. It manufactured missiles for the S-300 and S-400 missile systems that were used by the Russian Armed Forces during Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. MMZ Avangard is therefore responsible for supporting, materially or financially, actions which undermined or threatened the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
The sanctions were adopted in response to the comprehensive invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. 28.06.2022 U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated entities, many of which are critical to the Russian Federation’s defense industrial base. Actions, taken pursuant to Executive Orders (E.O.s) 14024 and 14065, strike at the heart of Russia’s ability to develop and deploy weapons and technology used for Vladimir Putin’s brutal war of aggression against Ukraine. Targeting Russia’s defense industry will degrade Putin’s capabilities and further impede his war against Ukraine.
