Reasons
Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant is a contracted supplier of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. It manufactured Mi-8AMTSh military transport helicopters which were used by the Russian Armed Forces during Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. Therefore, it is responsible for supporting materially actions which undermined or threatened the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
For reference: Sanctions were applied against companies that are part of Russia’s defense-industrial base and that produce weapons that have been used in Russia’s assault against Ukraine’s people, infrastructure, and territory. By cutting off companies from western technological and financial resources, such actions will have a deep and long-lasting effect on Russia’s defense-industrial base and its supply chain.
JSC Russian Helicopters is a state-owned holding company that oversees the design, manufacturing, testing, and maintenance of civilian and military helicopters. It accounts for more than 90 percent of the Russian helicopter market and about 10 percent of the world helicopter market. Helicopters produced by this company are used by Russia in its war against Ukraine.
Sanctions are imposed on companies for being owned or controlled by, or for having acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, «Russian Helicopters».
Those companies carry out the work required to design, produce, and maintain these lethal weapons.
