SHILOV Sergey Alexandrovich

He is an active participant in russia’s information war against Ukraine, serving as a propagandist and war correspondent for the russian state-run media outlet RIA Novosti.
On the Telegram channel "Witnesses of Bayraktar," Shilov justifies the war crimes of the aggressor state’s army, disseminates information about fundraising for the needs of russian military units, spreads disinformation aimed at discrediting Ukraine and its top political leadership, and reposts pro-kremlin narratives.
In addition, he was involved as an "expert" in propaganda efforts to train military correspondents, particularly during the "Voenkor-2025" tactical and special exercises for representatives of Belarusian media.
For his propaganda activities, dissemination of pro-kremlin narratives, and support for the russian federation’s aggression against Ukraine, he has been awarded state and departmental honors. In particular, in January 2023, pursuant to an order by russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu, he received the departmental "Konstantin Simonov" medal, in March 2023, he was honored with the "Golden Pen" award from the Union of Journalists of russia for "courage in the performance of official duties" as a war correspondent covering "SMO" and in September 2023, he was awarded a certificate of honor from the president of the russian federation for "merits in the development of the media and conscientious work." In January 2024, he received the russian federation government award in the field of mass media for covering "SMO" in state media.
He regularly and illegally visits the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to prepare materials aimed at justifying russia’s aggression against Ukraine, glorifying the russian armed forces, and promoting the ideology of the current russian government.
