In March 2014, Tsiskaridze, along with other russian cultural figures, signed a collective letter supporting the russian president's position on the russian federation's military intervention in Ukraine.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, he continued to support the kremlin's aggressive policy. In September 2022, he publicly stated that he did not intend to condemn russia for its "special operation" and strongly advocated "the unity of the russian world and post-soviet countries."
In 2025, he took part in the leading russian New Year's television show "Goluboy ogonyok" on the VGTRK channel, where, as invited guests, servicemen of the russian armed forces who are participating or have participated in the war against Ukraine were presented.
