She is an important figure in russian state propaganda and an active participant in russia's information war against Ukraine, systematically creating and disseminating disinformation aimed at justifying russia's armed aggression against Ukraine and involved in the process of legitimizing and justifying the crimes of the russian regime.
She is the author of propaganda films that broadcast key narratives of the kremlin, such as: "Azovstal" (2022), "The Victims Speak…" (2023), "Cossacks" (2023), "I Blame Fascism" (2025), and "Ukraine's Toxic War" (2025). To create these materials, she repeatedly illegally visited the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, in particular Donetsk region and Crimea, as evidenced by her social media posts in 2023 and 2025.
Kiriy's films are presented for screenings in "russian Houses" - foreign offices of the federal executive body of the russian federation, Rossotrudnichestvo, designed to spread russia's humanitarian influence around the world.
Kiriy's activities go beyond journalistic work, as evidenced by her participation in the interrogation of a Ukrainian prisoner of war on May 14, 2025, which is a gross violation of international humanitarian law.
Her activities are also closely connected with the security forces and political leadership of russia, as evidenced by numerous state and departmental awards, including those at the highest state level.
Thus, during her career, Kiriy was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, second class, and the medal "In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the victory in the Patriotic War of the people of South Ossetia" for "courage, fortitude and true heroism in the objective coverage" of the events of August 2008. The integration of its propaganda work into the ideological apparatus of the russian federation is emphasized by the awarding of the Church Medal of St. Prince Demetrius of Donskoy by Patriarch Kirill (Vladimir Gundyaev) on June 3, 2025 for "work on covering the activities of the military clergy." In addition, she has received a number of departmental awards from the ministry of defense, the ministry of internal affairs and the ministry of emergency situations of the russian federation.
