He is an active participant in the kremlin's information campaign aimed at justifying russia's military actions in Ukraine.
He is the host of the author's program Pozdnyakov on the federal TV channel NTV. The program serves as a platform for speeches by russian officials, who use it to voice the kremlin's official narratives, legitimize the occupation of Crimea and other Ukrainian territories, and justify the aggressive policy of the russian authorities. Among the guests of the program are the so-called head of the temporarily occupied Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, who promoted the legalization of the occupation of Crimea, official representative of the russian foreign ministry Maria Zakharova, foreign minister Sergey Lavrov, chairman of the federation council Valentina Matvienko, and LDPR Party Chairman Leonid Slutsky. In their broadcasts, they spread official narratives such as justifying russian aggression, discrediting international support for Ukraine, and manipulating the "US biolabs" or "collective conspiracy of the West against russia". The program also promotes a positive image of the russian authorities, discrediting the West and legitimizing the occupation of Ukrainian territories. For example, in an interview with the head of Rosmorrеchflot, Pozdnyakov stated that "the Sea of Azov is an inland sea of the russian federation". The programs with other guests, such as film director Yuriy Kara, promoted mobilization, and the programs with pranksters Vovan and Lexus discussed the so-called "Bucha fakes."
For his activities, Pozdnyakov received several awards from the russian authorities. In January 2024, he was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit for the fatherland, first class, for "merits in the development of the media and many years of conscientious work." Earlier, in July 2021, he received a letter of thanks from the president of the russian federation for media development and professional contribution.
