In his speeches on the propaganda shows "Evening with Vladimir Solovyov" and "60 Minutes" he systematically justifies the occupation of Ukrainian territories and accuses Ukraine of "inciting war".
Kornilov's anti-Ukrainian statements are aimed at discrediting the armed forces of Ukraine and the Ukrainian government, including statements that the crimes in Bucha were "staged by Kyiv" and accusing Ukraine of "genocide of the russian-speaking population of Donbas." He actively promotes conspiracy theories about "NATO biolabs" and "biological weapons", supporting kremlin fakes.
From 2006 to 2013, he headed the Ukrainian branch of the Institute of CIS countries, which promoted the kremlin's interests in post-Soviet countries. He actively promoted the ideas of "federalization of Ukraine" and "special status of Donbas", supporting the narratives of the russian federation to split Ukraine.
Since 2014, he has publicly supported the occupation of Crimea and pro-russian forces in Donbas.
