He is a well-known supporter of putin and a friend of putin's ally and head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.
He supports and justifies russia's military aggression against Ukraine by spreading kremlin propaganda narratives and symbols of the so-called "SMO" and declares his readiness to personally fight against Ukraine. He commented on the russian invasion of Ukraine as "a forced measure taken by the country's leadership in response to a series of actions taken years earlier by the Ukrainian leadership."
He supported putin's candidacy during the 2012 election campaign and was his confidant in the 2018 presidential election. He is a co-performer of the song "Guiding Star," the so-called "anthem" of the putin Team movement, which supports putin in the presidential election. In 2024, he officially supported putin's candidacy, participated in his election campaign and provided media support for it.
In 2014, he supported russia's annexation of Ukrainian Crimea and took part in the rally-concert "For a world without Nazism! For russia! For the President", which took place on March 18, 2022 at the Luzhniki Stadium in honor of the so-called ‘annexation of Crimea’.

He owns a villa in Saint-Tropez (France) and houses in Los Angeles (USA) and the Dominican Republic.
He is a co-owner of the 13 Surfing Department surf club in the Maldives.
