Filonenko actively promotes the narratives of the aggressor state in order to legitimize its actions aimed at the temporarily occupied part of the territories of Ukraine, as well as supports the so-called SMO, organizes propaganda events with the participation of children from the TOT of Zaporizhzhia region, in particular "russia is our common home", "russia is the homeland of unity", "For a world without nazism", "the day of the accession of Crimea to russia", etc.
For example, on August 21, 2025, Filonenko held a "lesson dedicated to the Day of the russian flag" in the children's center of the local history museum of the temporarily occupied city of Tokmak.
