It is owned by a sanctioned russian company, Leasing Company LLC, founded by sanctioned JSC Gazprombank Leasing.
The vessel is managed by Eco Shipping LLC, a sanctioned russian company that carries out shipping and water transportation related to the construction of infrastructure facilities in the arctic zone of the russian federation, including for the Arctic LNG-2 project of the sanctioned Novatek company for the production of natural gas and liquefied natural gas on the Gidan Peninsula.
In May 2024, USA imposed sanctions on the company's vessels, including "Mys Dezhneva".
In August 2024, the ship's owner was changed to the russian company Arctic-Trans LLC.
