Vessel information
The vessel is one of the flagships of Kaliningrad maritime logistics (russia), operating on the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk route. It is capable of transporting up to 140 units of rolling cargo and railway wagons per voyage.
Since August 2023, the vessel has been owned and managed by the designated russian entity FSUE Rosmorport (ФГУП "Росморпорт", TIN 7702352454).
Previously, the vessel was owned by the designated russian company JSC GTLK (АО "ГТЛК", TIN 7720261827), the largest leasing company in russia for air, maritime, rail, and urban passenger transport. GTLK is included on the list of systemically important entities of the russian economy.
From 2018 to 2022, the vessel was managed by the designated entity Oboronlogistika LLC (ООО "Оборонлогистика", TIN 7718857267), which has been integrated into the military construction complex of the russian ministry of defence since 2015. Its role is to ensure the guaranteed logistical support of the ministry’s needs in the fields of transportation, storage, and production of military and special-purpose goods. Oboronlogistika LLC is the cargo operator for the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk railway ferry line and has been designated by the government of the russian federation as the sole provider of maritime transport services for the ministry of defence to and from the Kaliningrad region.
The vessel is maintained by russian companies CJSC Kanonerskiy Shiprepairing Yard (ЗАО "Канонерский судоремонтный завод", TIN 7805377436) and JSC Kronstadt Marine Plant (АО "Кронштадтский морской завод", TIN 7843003128), the latter being subject to sanctions imposed by the United States, New Zealand, and Ukraine.
In April 2023, the United States imposed sanctions on several vessels, including the Baltiysk, affiliated with JSC GTLK (АО "ГТЛК") and its CEO Yevgeniy Ivanovich Ditrikh.
