Description:
From the upper right corner to the left, and then to the center of the composition, a crowd of people (on foot and on horseback) with braids and stakes is moving. In the center of the composition sits a gray-haired elderly man on a horse, whose figure is turned ¾ to the right. The man has a long mustache. He plays the kobza. In the foreground of the composition is a bust image of a man wearing a wide-brimmed hat, a girl with black hair, and an elderly woman whose head is tied with a scarf. The work is executed in ochre colors.
There is a graphite pencil under the image in the lower left: "Kobzar Volokh" (Based on the poem "Haidamaky)", the author's signature on the right: "Y. Sirot...61". On the back, lower right in graphite pencil: "Syrotenko Y. Kobzar Volokh. reg. 26844, inv. 12920".
Bottom left edge - a tear (0.5 cm), the lower edge is bent.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
