Description:
The horizon line is overstated. In the foreground is a bright green shore. On the left is a full-length, profile image of a girl, on the right. Her head is slightly tilted. Her black straight hair is cut short. She is wearing a red long-sleeved blouse and a black long skirt. The arms are bent at the elbows, the hands are near the stomach. In the background is a horizontal image of a dark blue river. On the opposite bank are emerald-green massifs of trees. The sky is painted in gray-blue and blue wide horizontal strokes. On the reverse side: an inscription in black paint on the top left of the stretcher: Tolkunov Egor Egorovich 1943 "By the River". 1991 г. 71 x 90 cm.
There are vertical and horizontal oil stains on the right and bottom left of the canvas.

Description of the incident location
It was opened on May 27, 1978, in the former City Hall building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century. As of 2022 (before the robbery), the museum's collection included more than 13 thousand works of art and was one of the most interesting museum collections in Ukraine. It includes works of Ukrainian and foreign painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative and applied arts. From October 31 to November 4, 2022, the Kherson Art Museum was looted by the russian occupiers, and more than 10,000 of its most valuable exhibits were stolen. The cargo was sent to Crimea, and the works (all or part of them) ended up in the Simferopol Central Museum of Tavrida. It is unknown whether everything is still there.
